About
I’m Anuar Zhumaev, a product designer and UI engineer based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
I design interfaces and build them. I work out the interaction model and the visual system, then write the front-end, in React and TypeScript or in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript, whichever the project needs, so a design is judged in the hand, not in a frame.
This year I designed and built the student-facing UI of Galileo, an AI-generated 3D science lab, for AAIC and the curriculum publisher Activate Learning. It ships in the customer release. I also designed Attune, an iOS reading app for the AI R&D lab ARMA AI, launching in October 2026.
From 2024 I led the design of Bujetor, an AI assistant that plans a household’s meals to a budget, as senior product designer with two junior designers. It is in development.
I’ve been designing since 2004: web, motion and interface design at Digital October and Afisha; the e-ink interface of the Yotaphone 2 at Yota Devices; art direction at BBDO Moscow and at INDG in Amsterdam; and, since 2019, independent work for Octa, Grip, Deutsche Bahn and Mediamonks.
I studied psychology at the Russian State University for the Humanities, and I work in English and Russian.
I’m looking for UI engineer and designer-developer roles, on teams where the person who designs an interface also builds it.
